Half Dome and Little Yosemite from Washburn Point
This image was made during one of Ansel Adams’ two June 1977 Yosemite workshops, on a group field session to Yosemite’s Glacier Point. The spot has always been a favorite of mine, with wonderful views of Nevada and Vernal Falls, the great peaks of the High Sierra in the east, and without the crowds of Glacier Point itself. Recent visits continue to impress and amaze: the tree in the foreground is still there…40 years later! From a 5x7 Super-XX negative.
