From Prague to Krakow: Exploring Slavic Neighbors May 28 - June 7, 2026

Overview

Known for their rich cultural heritage that includes unique languages, traditions and folklore, Poland and the Czech Republic are two Democratic European countries that offer a diverse photographic, cultural and historical experience right in the center of Europe.

This visual exploration of two Slavic neighbors starts in Prague, known for its stunning medieval architecture, including landmarks like Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the Astronomical Clock. It is often referred to as the “City of a Hundred Spires.”

We’ll move on to places like the Crystal Valley where glass blowing is still hand crafted in small factories.

Crossing the border into Poland, our journey will take us to Ksiaz, one of Poland’s finest castles, the Gross-Rosen and Auschwitz concentrations camps, the Tatra mountains and charming traditional villages along the way. We’ll also experience the Corpus Christi procession, a very important religious event for the many Catholic Poles and one of the few moments in the year when we can see people dressed in their traditional clothes.

Our adventure concludes in Krakow, one of the oldest cities in Poland and situated on the Vistula River. We’ll enjoy visiting Wavel Castle, the main square, the Jewish quarter and some of the city’s most interesting museums.

Every day will be packed with photographic opportunities, from the locals going about their daily lives to picturesque landscapes to interesting architecture. Master photographer and educator Alan Ross will be by your side the entire way, providing photographic know-how and expertise in a light-hearted and supportive environment. Whatever your style or format, Alan is dedicated to helping you merge your vision, passion and craft to create images that most articulately reflect your experience.

Joining Alan is Daniel Rosca, a Romania photographer and guide who will coordinate all aspects of our adventure, making sure everything runs smoothly and that our itinerary is maximized for the best photographic opportunities.
