Kraków to Prague Day-by-Day Itinerary
Our itinerary has been carefully crafted to provide diverse photographic opportunities while exposing us to the history and culture of these European gems. Slight adjustments may be made based on the interests of the group and unforeseen weather changes.
Day 1 – Tuesday, May 25, 2027
Arrival in Krakow and private airport transfer to our hotel. After getting settled, we’ll gather for our first group dinner.

Day 2 – Wednesday, May 26, 2027
Krakow is a fascinating city where Slavic culture meets western civilization. We’ll start our day with a visual and historic orientation tour of the historic center of town with a local guide. We’ll then visit the only workshop in town still making stained glass and learn about this fascinating craft from start to finish. We’ll also allow some time for personal exploration of the city and its many sights. Suggested are the many churches with stained glass, synagogues, the Jewish quarter or Kazimierz, Wavel Castle, the banks of the Vistula River, the main square or one of the interesting museums, such as the art museum housing DaVinci’s “The Lady with Ermine” or Bansky.
Late in the afternoon, we will come together for a pierogi cooking class. This famous dish at the heart of Polish cuisine, will unveil its secrets to us with the help of a local chef. We’ll enjoy the fruits our labor for a pierogi dinner.

Day 3 – Thursday, May 27, 2027
Corpus Christi is a very important religious event for the many Catholic Poles and also one of the few times in the year when people dress in traditional clothing. We will travel to the south of Poland to a small community to observe and photograph the procession taking place up close and personal.
When the procession is over, we’ll stop for lunch and then spend the rest of the day exploring and photographing the landscapes offered by the Tatra mountains…the highest mountains in Poland on the border with Slovakia.

Day 4 – Friday, May 28, 2027
We will have a full day to explore the beauty of the Tatra Mountains and the surrounding areas. Think majestic landscapes, viewpoints, wonderful wooden churches and traditional cheese making. If weather permits, we’ll also make a short side trip into Slovakia to photograph the crimson clover fields with the mountains as backdrop.

Day 5 – Saturday, May, 29, 2027
Today we travel across the border into Czechia and head to Ostrava, known for is past industrial and mining activity. We’ll visit two of the most impressive sites. First up is the Vitkovice ironworks, a massive facility created in the early 1800s. Production stopped years ago, allowing us to walk around the gigantic metal structures, go up the bolt tower and into the blast furnace.

Day 6 – Sunday, May 30, 2027
After breakfast, we’ll venture out to one of the most interesting ethnographic museums in Czechia, the Wallachian Museum. We’ll have traditional wooden houses, agricultural buildings and a traditional blacksmith workshop as photographic opportunities.
Back in Ostrava, we’ll visit one more industrial site, the Michal coal mine where we’ll see where the miners prepared for work before going underground.

Day 7 – Monday, May 31, 2027
Today we cross borders back into Poland. Our first stop is the colorful Katowice neighborhood with its brick buildings and white/red window frames. These were built for the miners working in the area and make for some interesting compositions.
After lunch, we’ll head to Wroclaw, one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. During a late afternoon guided tour, we’ll learn how the city was severely damaged in one of the last battles of WWII; the Nazis surrendered the city just two days before the end of the war. The city was reborn from the ashes and is now a thriving and vibrant community. We’ll also learn the answer to the most common question asked about Wroclaw…how to pronounce it!

Day 8 – Tuesday, June 1, 2027
Wroclaw deserves a full day of our attention. We’ll visit some locations as a group, but allow ample time for personal exploration. Highlights include going up into the towers that dot the city for grand views, the University museum with its fabulous interiors, local farmer’s market, the neon street at night, the large main square with its impressive architecture, the island with gas lamps that are still lit everyday by a special character, photographing one or more of the three cathedrals and finding some of the 1000 dwarves the city is famous for.

Day 9 – Wednesday, June 2, 2027
Today it’s back to Czechia and the ultimate destination of Prague. On the way, we’ll visit the most famous Polish pottery town in Poland, Boleslawiec. We’ll learn about its importance to the area, see how the pottery is made and hand painted and photograph the process.
In late afternoon, we arrive in Prague, settle in and then walk to the iconic Charles Bridge.

Day 10 – Thursday, June 3, 2027
Today is a full day exploring Prague, starting with a morning walk-about through the Old Town, main square, Jewish quarter and finally the castle, one of the most impressive in Europe. We’ll also have some time to explore on our own, revisiting any of the sights on our morning walk or finding something new. Our day ends with a final group dinner, where we can relive some of the experiences of the last 10 days.

Day 11 – Sunday, June 4, 2027
Today we part ways. In the morning, we will organize transfers from the hotel to the Prague airport. We hope you enjoyed this adventure and carry with you life-long memories.
