Post Processing: Small Tweaks for Big Results

Getting the most out of your images doesn’t necessarily means hours in front of the computer. More often than not, a series of small tweaks and adjustments that take 30 minutes or less can make the difference between “ho hum” and “wow.”

Using both his own and participant images, Alan will walk you through his favorite tools and techniques for transforming an image.  Think of it as an image “makeover.” You’ll not only enjoy seeing what he can do with your image, you’ll learn how to post-process quickly and effectively by watching how he transforms other participant images.

At the end of the session, you’ll have an edited image file to print out. You’ll also receive a recording of the session to refer to time and again as you master post-processing and extracting the vision from your capture or negative. On the agenda:

  • Learn why Alan likes Lightroom for initial global adjustments, and then switches to Photoshop for nuance and finishing
  • See how Curves can magically enhance tonality
  • Learn what Overlay Layers can do to make image tonal adjustments without altering your actual image layer
  • Discover when enough is enough and when to stop

If you work in film, Alan can use a scan of one of your negatives to show you what’s possible in the darkroom!

Limited to 5 participants. $50 per person. Current Schedule:

Current schedule: Saturday, July 10th, 10 – 11 am, Mountain Daylight Time.
