
Poland and Czechia Day-to-Day Itinerary
Our final itinerary could change depending on weather, the interests of the group or transportation and other reasons beyond our control. If you are registered for this adventure, we will notify you once we have reached the minimum number of participants so that you can book your flights.
Day 1: Thursday, May 28, 2026 Welcome to Prague, Czech Republic
- Arrive at the airport and be picked up outside the baggage claim area
- You will be taken to your hotel in the heart of the city, where you will check in for two nights
- Evening introductions and our first group dinner.
Day 2: Friday, Mary 29, 2026. Exploring the Best of Prague
- We will walk the old town with a local guide, visiting the main square, the Jewish neighborhood and finally Prague Castle, one of the most impressive castles in all of Europe.
- In the afternoon, there will be free time to explore more of Prague on your own. Highlights include the Charles Bridge, synagogues, the Astronomical Clock and one of the many museums in the City.
- Overnight in Prague

Day 3: Saturday, May 30, 2026 The Crystal Valley and Ksiaz Castle (4-hour drive)
- Leaving Prague, we will point our bus towards the mountains and a region called the Crystal Valley where handmade Czech glass and crystal are still produced. We’ll visit a small glass factory to see how glass is still made u sing the traditional blowing technique.
- We then cross the border into Poland for a visit to one of it’s finest castles…Ksiaz. Besides its impressive architecture and gardens, it also has an interesting history. In WW11, the Nazis confiscated it and built an extensive network of underground tunnels.

Day 4: Sunday, May 31, 2026 Gross-Rosen Work Camp & Wroclaw (2-hour drive)
- Our day begins with a somber visit to the Gross-Rosen work camp, which will introduce us to the turbulent events of WWII and the atrocities committed by the Nazis in the region.
- We then depart for Wroclaw. During a guided tour of the city, we will see how it was nearly destroyed in one of the last battles of WWII. The Nazis surrendered the city only two days before the end of the way. The city was reborn and today is a thriving and vibrant place.

Day 5: Monday, June 1, 2026 Wroclaw and Ostrava, Czechia (3.5-hour drive)
- In the morning, we will have a bit more time to explore Wroclaw and its wonderful Slavic history
- We’ll then cross back into Czechia and head to Ostrava, an area famous for its past industrial and mining activity.
- There are several preserved industrial sites that showcase the area’s history, and we will start with a visit to the largest, Vitkovice ironworks. It’s an e enormous facility, no longer in use, and we will have the opportunity to wander around the gigantic metal structures, go up the bolt tower and into the blast furnace.
- Overnight in Karvina, CZ
Day 6: Tuesday, June 2, 2026 Ethnographic Museum & Ostrava (1-hour drive)
- The morning takes us to a nearby ethnographic village museum featuring wooden houses, traditional architecture and a working blacksmith shop.
- Back in Ostrava, we’ll visit one more of the industrial sites in the area, the Michal coal mine.
- Overnight in Karvina

Day 7: Wednesday, June 3, 2026 Auschwitz & Tatra Mountains (2.5-hour drive)
- After an easy border crossing back into Poland, we spend a somber morning at the Auschwitz concentration camp. With the help of a local guide, we will learn how the camp was organized and run by the Nazis. We’ll visit the buildings where the victims stayed, a gas chamber and the tracks where they were brought by train from many parts of Europe to Auschwitz. It is indeed a somber place that will make us reflect on the darker side of human nature.
- In the late afternoon, we will arrive at the foot of the majestic Tatra Mountains and enjoy some wonderful and relaxing landscapes.
- Overnight in Zakopane area

Day 8: Thursday, June 4, 2026 Corpus Christi & Tatra Mountains (2-hour drive)
- Corpus Christy is a very important religious event for the many Catholic Poles. It’s also one of the few times of the year when we can see locals dressed in their traditional clothes. We will spend the morning in southern Poland in a small c community to observe and photograph the procession that takes place during this special occasion.
- We spend the rest of the day exploring, admiring and photographing the landscapes offered by the Tatra Mountains, the highest mountains in Poland and bordering Slovakia.
- Overnight in Zakopane area.
Day 9: Friday, June 5, 2026 Krakow (2.5-hour drive)
- In the morning, our trusty bus will head towards to Krakow, passing by one of the most wonderful wooden churches for which Poland is famous.
- After checking in to our hotel, we’ll enjoy an orientation tour of the city with a local guide.
- Overnight in Krakow.
Day 10: Saturday, June 6, 2026 Krakow
- Krakow is a truly fascinating city, and we will spend the entire day there. Some of its most interesting and photogenic locations are the many churches with stained glass, synagogues and the Jewish quarter, the Wavel castle, the banks of the Vistula river, the main square and more. There are also very interesting museums such as the art museum (housing Da Vinci’s “The Lady with an Ermine”) or Bansky.
- In the afternoon we will come together as a group for a pierogi cooking class. This famous dish, part of the Polish cuisine, will unveil its secrets to us with the help of a local cook and guess what we are having for our last dinner? The right answer: the best pierogi you have ever had!
- Our Polish cultural immersion will be therefore completed and it will also be a good time to share our experiences and reflect on what’ve learned and captured.
- Overnight in Krakow
Day 11: Sunday, June 7, 2026 Krakow and Home
- In the morning, you will be transferred from to the hotel to the airport in Krakow.
- We hope you’ve enjoyed this adventure and carry with you life-long memories.
